Fortress Research is a digital repository devoted to the study of fortified architecture. It brings together research, historical and architectural records, bibliographical references and iconographic documentation, with particular attention to the transformations of fortification between the late Middle Ages and the early modern period.
The repository is conceived as a work in progress. Individual records and research sections are progressively updated as new documentary, bibliographical and comparative evidence becomes available.
